Panther Pride on the Track!
The Issaquah Middle School Panthers Track & Field team is off to an incredible start this season! With 248 athletes competing and over one-third of the entire IMS student body has been involved in the program in one way or another, this is the largest team in school history. Our Panthers have already reached impressive milestones: two school records have been broken, and dozens of students are setting personal records (PRs) meet after meet. Several more athletes are hot on the heels of existing records, and with half the season still ahead, the energy and excitement are only growing.
Beyond the numbers, what truly stands out is the commitment, growth, and heart this team brings every day. Our Panthers show up to practice with determination, continually pushing themselves to improve in their events—and in their personal development. They're not just becoming stronger athletes; they’re learning life lessons about perseverance, responsibility, and being part of something bigger than themselves. The focus and effort they bring to every practice and meet are something to be proud of—both on and off the track.
Just as impressive is the sportsmanship consistently on display. Our students cheer loudly for their teammates and offer encouragement to athletes from other schools as well, embodying what it means to be respectful, competitive, and community-minded. Whether it’s a personal best, a team relay, or a first-ever race, our Panthers rise to the occasion—and lift each other up along the way.
We are incredibly proud of every runner, jumper, and thrower who has given their all this season. We can't wait to see what the second half of the season brings. Go Panthers!
