Incoming 6th Graders to IMS 2025-2026 - Important Dates & Information

Upcoming Events

We are happy your student will be joining us at IMS next fall.  Transitioning from elementary school to middle school is an exciting time. The IMS staff along with the 5th grade teachers have begun the process of planning for your student. 

Please mark your calendars and reserve these important dates:

o   Tuesday, February 11 – 6:30 p.m. Experience Music Night at IMS. If your child is at all interested in taking a year-long music elective in 6th grade, this fun night is for you.  Students along with their parent or guardian will learn about our fabulous Band, Chorus and Orchestra programs, instrument rentals, and what is taught in each discipline. 

o   Wednesday, February 26 – 10:45 a.m. Fifth grade students will visit the IMS campus with their teachers and learn about middle school life. Campus tour is included.

o   5th Grade Parent/Guardian Night at IMS (2 sessions – adults only please)

§  Wednesday, February 26 – 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. (last name A-K)

§  Thursday, February 27 – 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. (last name L-Z)

§  Thursday, February 27 – 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. (Spanish Speaking Families)

If unable to make your assigned session, you are welcome to attend the other.

Schedule for both evenings is as follows:

5:30                 Issaquah Middle School Doors Open to Commons. Enjoy refreshments compliments of the IMPTSA.

                        Special Information session for LRCI & LRCII. Special Education teachers will be available to speak with parents/guardians.

6:00                 Doors Open to Main Gym and Program Starts

6:00 – 6:30      Opening remarks from Principal Jergens-Zmuda and IMS PTSA President Cortney Eldridge

6:30 – 7:30      Small group presentations.  IMS staff will talk about a variety of topics including, transitioning to middle school, finding balance, completing course selection, due dates and more.
