A Message from Principal Mark Jergens-Zmuda - April 2, 2026

Message From

IMS Families and Community,

Next week is a School Spirit Week put on by our wonderful Associates Student Body (ASB).

·         Monday, April 6 = Ladybug vs Bumble Bee (wear red/black/polka dots or yellow/black/stripes)

·         Tuesday, April 7 = Patterns (wear any pattern)

·         Wednesday, April 8 = Dress as Your Type or Dress Like a Fruit (Dress as your "type" or Dress Like a Fruit)

·         Thursday, April 9= Awareness Colors Day (wear a color to bring awareness to a cause of your choice. Pink-breast cancer awareness, Orange-anti-bullying, Blue-Autism awareness, etc.)

·         Friday, April 10 = Spring Break (wear bright colors or floral/spring prints)

We will be recognizing students next week who made the Honor Roll (3.5 grade point average for Trimester 2). Report card grades for Trimester 2 are now accessible.  We no longer print them and send them home.  Here are the steps to see how your student did Trimester 2. ISD has a link on how to access report cards in Family/Student Access with more information: https://www.isd411.org/portals/family-access/report-problems/viewing-report-cards

Friendly reminder if a student did not earn a C+ or better this trimester in their current advanced ELA or advanced math course, they will be moved to the appropriate lower course for the 2026-27 school year. A student must demonstrate consistent mastery at that advanced level. They will be placed in a course designed to better support long-term success. Our goal is to ensure students build strong foundational skills and confidence before advancing.

We invite you to join us for Java with JZ on April 23 at 10:00 AM in the IMS library. This informal gathering is a great opportunity to connect, ask questions, and hear about what’s happening at IMS. Zoom link: https://issaquah-wednet-edu.zoom.us/j/85980152582

Track season begins April 6, and we look forward to another great season.  Please sign up on our school website under Athletics in Final Forms to join.

Looking ahead, Spring Break will take place April 13–17. When students return, we will begin our Smarter Balanced state testing. Eighth graders will complete the Science assessment in their classrooms, and all students in grades 6–8 will participate in:

  • ELA testing: April 30 and May 1
  • Math testing: May 15 and 16

We encourage all students to do their best and come prepared.  Students will NEED THEIR OWN PLUG IN headphones for the April 30 test date.

As we look toward the end of the year, please note that 8th grade promotion will be held on Tuesday, June 9 at 9:00 AM in our school gym. The last day of school is June 16.
