A Message from Principal Jergens-Zmuda: March 28, 2024

Message From

IMS Families and Community:

We just started Trimester 3. As we transition into this next phase of learning, I wanted to share some important updates and events happening at our school.

Firstly, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our Parent-Teacher-Student Association (PTSA) for their outstanding efforts in organizing the IMS Heritage and Culture Fair last Friday. The fair was a tremendous success, providing our students with enriching experiences that celebrate diversity and foster cultural understanding. We deeply appreciate the dedication and support of our PTSA in making events like these possible. Thank you to ASB and NJHS for help with set up and posters.

As we continue our academic journey, I would like to remind you of our upcoming Academic Assembly on Friday, March 29 for students who made Honor Roll and who are Golden Ticket winners. This assembly serves as an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the achievements of our students across various academic disciplines. We look forward to showcasing the hard work and accomplishments of our middle school scholars and outstanding accolades for sports and clubs during this event.

Additionally, I want to bring your attention to the upcoming Smarter Balance testing. These assessments play a crucial role in measuring our students' progress and informing instructional practices. We encourage all students to approach these tests with confidence and diligence, as they provide valuable insights into individual growth and areas for improvement.  We scheduled the test for April 22 and 23, but this is the beginning of one of our religious holidays and several other students are currently fasting for Ramadan.  We will be moving the dates to early May.

As always, communication between home and school is essential for the success of our students. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions, concerns, or ideas you would like to share. Together, we can ensure that each student receives the support and resources they need to thrive academically and personally.  We do have an opportunity to meet in person at the IMS library or over Zoom on Friday, March 29 at 10am for Java with JZ.  Here is the link if you would like to join:

Just a friendly reminder we have free tutoring after school Monday- Thursday for an hour and students can take the activity bus to get close to home if they would like extra support in their classes.

Thank you for your continued partnership and involvement in our school community. Here's to a productive and successful trimester ahead!
