A Message from Principal Jergens-Zmuda - March 13, 2025
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We would like to share some important updates regarding course registration, upcoming religious observances, and end-of-trimester reminders.
The course request process is due March 17 at 8:00 a.m. If you need assistance, please reach out to your student's counselor or our school registrar. Students Last Names (A-K) reach out to Allie Knechtel at knechtela@issaquah.wednet.edu. Students last names (L-Z) reach out to Oracio Valdez at valdezo@issaquah.wednet.edu
We want to be mindful and supportive of students observing religious fasting.
- Nineteen Day Fast (Bahá'í Community) – Observed from March 1 to March 19 between sunrise and sunset for some students.
- Ramadan – Students may be fasting from sunrise to sunset.
Accommodations may include alternative lunch locations for fasting students. or a designated safe space for prayer during lunch or as needed. Please just have your student let the front office know about their needs.
We are approaching the end of Trimester 2. Please encourage students to work hard and improve their grades before the trimester ends. Support is available. Students can get after-school help in the library. Students also have access to teachers during Panther Success Time on Wednesday mornings during Homeroom.
Track is the last and Final Sports season. It is also the most popular, with 200-300 kids participating. Make sure your student has their physical complete and sign up using Final Forms on our school website.
This is still a few months away, but at the end of Trimester 3, we will celebrate with: an 8th Grade Trip to Family Fun Center and an ASB sponsored End-of-Year/Trimester Party. Please realize we are reviewing behavior Expectations. Students with 10 or more Office Discipline Referrals (ODRs) or any suspensions will not be allowed to attend these events. We encourage all students to follow the IMS Way by demonstrating positive behavior and respect. Thank you for your support in ensuring a positive and successful school experience for all students.
Learn more about the school and give your input at a Principal's coffee at my next "Java with JZ" event. This month is in person in the library before school on Friday, March 28 at 7:30 a.m. or over Zoom.
Here is the Zoom Link to participate.
