A Message from Principal Jergens-Zmuda - February 8, 2024
IMS Families and Community,
Several of our Panthers are doing amazing things this week. Boys’ Basketball and Girls’ Soccer seasons are underway. Games started today. Good luck on the upcoming season. Ms. Lee took several of our Issaquah Middle School choir students over to partner with Issaquah HS students as part of the annual Choir Bash. They are coming together and partnering with our neighbors to sing some songs together and build camaraderie. Several Jazz students also headed to the Eastshore Music League Jazz Festival. Good luck to Dr. Eisenhauer and all of the talented Jazz students. Ms. Capasso is taking our Math Club students to a MathCounts competition this weekend at the Museum of Flight. Good Luck to our amazing Mathletes.
Our school has FREE after school tutoring in the Library for all subjects Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 3-4pm and Wednesdays from 3:45-4:45pm. Students can take the activity bus home afterwards.
Does your student need math help in Math 1 or CC7? Issaquah Middle School is partnering with Issaquah High School students to come and help in those two specific classes thanks to our Issaquah Schools Foundation starting on February 13. Students from the high school will be coming over on Tuesdays from 3-4pm for sixth grade Math 1 tutoring help and on Thursdays from 3-4pm for seventh grade CC7 Math help. Students will also meet in the IMS library. Please send your student to work with fellow students who may need some extra support or just have a few questions from time to time about a concept. We look forward to this neighboring partnership with the high school students.
Course Registration Process (CRP) for the 2024-25 school year will start with information nights for the incoming sixth graders on Feb 12 (Last Names A-K) and Feb 13 (Last Names L-Z) at 6pm in the gym. Teachers will be going over the CRP for all of our rising seventh and eighth grade students the week of Feb 12-16. Please look for upcoming information and Zoom links for any questions. The students who will be rising ninth grade students will do this process the week we come back from Mid-Winter Break. Please look for information from Issaquah HS and Gibson Ek if you have a rising ninth grader next year.
